As the days get shorter and the colours start to turn, we’ve been making the most of the season with a few family trips planned over the coming weeks. This weekend took us out to the coast — a mix of sea air, cliff walks, and camera tests in Filey and at Flamborough Head.
It wasn’t all about the photos (though there were plenty of those). It was more about getting out together, enjoying that crisp autumn light, and putting some new kit through its paces. The highlight this time was trying out my newest setup — a fresh camera bag that finally keeps everything organised, which you can see below, and get one here, and the Sigma 150–500mm APO lens, which has already proven to be a bit of a beast for distant subjects.
The weather is definitely starting to turn, with that mix of chill and drizzle that keeps you guessing, but you just can’t beat the colours this time of year. Golden leaves, low light, and the sound of the sea — it’s the perfect backdrop for both photography and family time.
