What might be our last run to Manchester Airport this season turned out better than we expected. The weather just about played along – still a bit sludgey underfoot, but that only added to the fun for the kids who were more than happy jumping in muddy puddles while we waited for the next arrival.
The highlight of the day came right at the end – the sunset was incredible. Warm golden tones fading into purples and pinks made the perfect backdrop for some final shots of the evening. We managed to grab a few images that really captured that mix of light, aircraft, and atmosphere you only seem to get at this time of year.
One of the nicest things about these trips is the people you meet along the way. Over the season we’ve made some new friends – another couple with a young son who’s as mad about planes (maybe even more so than us!). It’s been brilliant sharing the excitement together, swapping stories, and watching the kids enjoy every minute.
If this was our last visit for the season, it was a great way to wrap it up – muddy boots, happy kids, new friends, and a memory card full of keepers.
